Chayanne will bring his "No Hay Imposibles" tour to Madison Square Garden on June 24.
Chayanne's latest album No hay imposibles was released internationally on February 23, 2010. "Tu Boca" is the second single off of the album. Chayanne recently filmed a music video for the song with renowned director Gustavo Garzón. Watch behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the video here.
The album, recorded between Miami, Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, Bogotá and Buenos Aires, signals the return of the Puerto Rican singing icon to the music scene after almost two years of being involved with other projects.
"Me enamoré de ti," the first single released, is the theme of a popular Mexican soap opera, Corazón Salvaje. This telenovela will be distributed to more than 60 countries starting in February. In all, 11 tracks make up No hay imposibles, with something for everyone, from melodious ballads to unmistakable uptempos.
"We've spent about a year-and-a-half on the selection of the songs," said Chayanne while at his home in Miami. "Do you know how many songs we went through? More than 800! It took us days and days, and the result, I think, has been a very positive one."
As is to be expected in the work of this singer, actor and dancer, No hay imposibles maintains the musical essence that has characterized him.
"The uptempo tracks invite us to see life in a happy, hopeful way," continues Chayanne. "While the ballads center more on love, on breaking up and on reflection. It's the Chayanne that people like to hear, but very current, contemporary, fresh."
After the success of the 20th album of his career, Mi Tiempo (2007), supported by an extensive worldwide concert tour, Chayanne released his first live album in 2008, Chayanne: Vivo, which gathered his greatest hits (such as "Y tú te vas", "Provócame", "Torero" and "Dejaría Todo", to name a few), in a real collector's album.
In 2009, the artist returned to a field in which he has also shone, one in which his fans had wanted to see him again: acting. He starred in a TV miniseries, Gabriel and, once he concluded that, he tackled music head on, seeking songs for No hay imposibles; working with general producer Javier Díaz and with other renowned industry veterans such as Julio Reyes, Sebastián Krys, Pablo Durán and René Toledo; and promoting up-and-coming talents, such as young Venezuelan composer Paolo Tondo, author of "Me enamoré de ti", among other songs.
The result is an album that, according to the artist, reflects the present stage of his life: in love, at peace and concerned about doing something for his fellow man.
"I don't want anyone to think that I am the perfect man, father and husband, because I am not," states Chayanne. "One always makes mistakes, but every day one learns something new. One grows a bit."
To grow as a human being and as a professional is what Elmer Figueroa Arce, named Chayanne by his mother, a big fan of an old and popular U.S. TV show, has done ever since he was a young boy from the town of San Lorenzo, in Puerto Rico, and who entered the music world with the boy band called Los Chicos.
After the international success of that youthful group, Chayanne launched a solo career that would make him one of the most universally admired, beloved and respected artists. And today, that's how Chayanne remains in the hearts of the millions of fans he has all over the world; from Argentina to Spain, from San Juan to Mexico City. Chayanne: an artist for whom there are no impossibles, just like the name of his album, No hay imposibles.
