Dimitris Mitropanos released his first record in 1967 with two songs written by Giorgos Zambetas. A year earlier he had toured throughout Greece and Cyprus performing the music of Mikis Theodorakis, who took him along. His first full album release came in 1972 with the hit record "O Agios Fevruarios" (Holly February) that set him up for a very successful career that spans over four decades and has given us lifelong hits such as, "S'anazito Sti Saloniki" (Searching For You In Salonika), "Roza," "Ta Ladadika" (The Greasy Sites), "Kyra Zoi" (Dear Life) and a medley of three heartfelt folk songs tied into one, known as "Alimono" (Pity), which has become the song that is most embedded into the Greek conscious.
After over a decade-long absence, Dimitris Mitropanos is once again coming to North America for an unforgettable set of performances. Often described as the last of the great voices of the "Laiko" song, Dimitris Mitropanos is sure to transport listeners through memories and emotions, something that only a handful of Greek singers can accomplish today. Do not miss the opportunity to be a part of an unforgettable performance.
