About the Show

The Ultimate Doo-Wop Show returns to the Beacon Theatre on Saturday, September 25.

The recent record-breaking PBS-TV music specials, "50 Years of Doo-Wop" were so well received that it created a new showcase and new audiences for veteran Doo-Wop artists, resulting in additional PBS-TV specials. The venerable TV news magazine, CBS Sunday Morning, recently aired a feature on the Doo-Wop shows at the Beacon to a national audience treating 50-something concertgoers to the songs they danced to at sock hops, while allowing younger audiences to discover that Doo-Wop is feel-good music no matter what your age. This music is like a first love that no one ever forgets.

The 2010 lineup will feature*:

Lou Christie (Lightning Strikes)
The Vogues, re-united with original leads Bill Burkette and Hugh Geyer (Five O'Clock World)
